It is great to be done with another day and though the end results were very good, it was a long day mentally. We started at the Dells of the Eau Claire and enjoyed a nice 3 mile trail section along the rocky Eau Claire river. There was then about 4 miles of road and gravel. Followed by another trail section of 6.5 miles and then 34.3 miles of bike trail & road. We ended with another 3.5 miles on the Iola trail sections.
So we think we added almost 52 more miles today. We were moving for 11 ½ hours today, but that included about 20 minutes of talking to Bernice and her friends at the ski area trails. It is very nice to hear people get excited about the trail and my run. Bernice also had contacted Steve with a local paper (Amherst I think). I was a little out of it by the time I saw these guys, so I hope I gave them adequate answers to their questions.
We have completed 486 miles and will
start at the detour and MM(Google map)or (Ice Age PDF) at the
Iola ski hill (Iola Winter Sports Club) Wednesday. We plan to get to
NW of Wautoma near Hwy V(Google map)or (Ice Age PDF)That would make Wednesday another 50 mile day.
I'm a bit loopy so Tim will have to clean this up a bit more than usual. Almost had my running clothes stuck in the Laundromat when it closed earlier than expected. Fortunately Tom was able to find the person before they went home.
Eating a huge dinner and icing to get the legs ready for tomorrow. The calves almost cramped, causing me walk a lot. Most parts of the legs now hurt in some way, especially the joints and tendons, oh and the muscles. But the bones still feel fine.
Gotta get to bed early now.
