Jason phoned me today around 1 p.m. Jason has already covered 20 miles of running plus 10 miles of walking, and he expects to cover 20 more miles before calling it a day. He's just south of
Antigo, Wisconsin. The weather is windy but cooler, and he prefers the lower temperature. Physically, his hamstrings are tight and he's wearing his IT band strap, but he's feeling good and making terrific progress today.
Jason is planning to set up tomorrow's run by saving the
Eau Claire Dells segmenttill the morning. I used to live near
Eau Claire Dells County Park,and the scenery there is awesome - the Eau Claire River flows through a narrow rocky gorge with a series of waterfalls and rapids.
Jason is aware of the death of our ultrarunning friend Roy Pirrung's wife, Gail, in a house fire in Sheboygan last week. He asked me to give Roy his sincere sympathy at Gail's funeral this evening.

Will be trying to get photos and audio up, but don't have time again tonight. Didn't get done today until 6:30pm, so had 11 1/2 hours on the trail. This included two episodes where the trail markings were confusing and then just gone.
